Tech Forum to Explore Drone Use by First Responders

How many times in your lifetime have you been awakened or startled by sirens screaming from emergency vehicles as they rushed to a scene of an accident or other dangerous situation?

Whether these first responders represent law enforcement, firefighting, search and rescue, or other specialized emergency organizations connected to this line of work, they no doubt place themselves in harm’s way every day, risking their own lives to help save the lives of others.

It is estimated that between 900 to 1,000 public safety entities across the U.S. currently use unmanned aerial systems (UAS), or more commonly known as drones, to make their jobs easier, safer and more efficient. And that number is expected to increase substantially over the next decade.

Public safety organizations desiring to learn more about how drones are being used in emergency situations and wanting to network with other like-minded professionals are encouraged to attend the Sixth Annual UAS Tech Forum, August 21 & 22, in Salina, Kansas.

First Responders is one of three tracks that will be offered during the UAS Tech Forum, which will be held at Tony’s Pizza Events Center. Agriculture and Innovation are the other featured tracks. Attendees can attend several sessions as part of the First Responder track, including panel discussions in the following areas:

  • Developing a UAS Program in a Public Safety Organization
  • UAS for Disaster Response and Emergency Management
  • Certification, Regulation and Training Consideration for First Responders
  • UAS Technologies for First Responders.

To view the current agenda, register for the UAS Tech Forum and/or book your hotel room, please visit the UAS Cluster Initiative website at https://www.uascluster.com/pages/techforum2019-location.html. Take advantage of our Early Bird Registration and save $50 off the current registration rate by registering today. Don’t delay or the early bird rate may just fly away before you realize it!

The UAS Tech Forum attracts hundreds of attendees from across the nation, including entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, tech transfer professionals, economic development officials and service providers who are involved in the drone industry and want to see it grow.

See you in Salina!
